At a Glance

The LSJ SEED-PM is a portable handheld trace detector built on Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) for emergency firefighting, public security, border defense, anti-smuggling, national defense, the military, airports, railway stations and customs — a single 3 kg instrument for solid, liquid and gaseous samples.

01The Problem: Hot Zones Hide Six Different Threats

Teams cannot carry six single-purpose instruments into one time-critical scene — and the threats themselves are engineered to be invisible:

!Invisible, Odorless Lethal Hazards

Chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial gases are invisible and often odorless at lethal concentrations; a wrong entry decision can cost lives.

!Too Many Single-Purpose Instruments

Separate instruments for chemistry, combustible gas, radiation and explosives are slow to deploy and difficult to cross-check under pressure.

!Unknown Mixtures After Disasters

After earthquakes, floods or industrial fires, ruptured tanks and damaged pipelines release unknown mixtures of solids, liquids and gases.

!Seconds Matter at Checkpoints

At customs, airports and border checkpoints, trace contraband needs a verdict in seconds — with a defensible digital record for every screening.

02One Device Replaces a Rack of Single-Purpose Detectors

The SEED-PM consolidates six detection capabilities into one handheld unit. Its onboard database holds no fewer than 600 sample profiles and can be expanded as new threats emerge, while the front suction inlet accepts solid, liquid and gaseous samples without swapping probes.

CWA Chemical Warfare Agents Nerve, blister, blood & choking agents
GA, GB, GD, VX, VS, HD, L, HN3, AC, CG and related chemical gases
TIC Toxic Industrial Chemicals Releases from plants & pipelines
NH₃, Cl₂, H₂S, NO, NO₂, HCHO, toluene and other toxic / harmful gases
LEL Combustible Gas Explosion risk control
Lower explosive limit readings in %LEL, displayed live alongside chemical results
EXP Explosives Trace Particle & vapor trace screening
Trace-level particle and vapor screening for security checkpoints and venues
DRG Drugs Customs & anti-smuggling screening

03From Power-On to Verdict in Seconds, Not Minutes

A built-in intelligent algorithm drives fast response at pg-class sensitivity, with a quantified Sarin (GB) detection limit of 0.5 mg/m³. The workflow is deliberately simple — one key starts the unit, self-check and automatic calibration run without intervention, and the operator presents the suction inlet to the target:

1 One-key startup — power on and the SEED-PM completes self-inspection and calibration automatically; warm-up takes no more than 10 minutes.
2 Suction sampling — draw solid, liquid or gas samples through the front inlet; no consumable probes to change.
3 2–32 s analysis — selectable analysis time matches the threat and screening tempo; the identified agent type is shown on screen.
4 Alarm and record — audible-visual alarm, or covert silent alarm, with the event stored automatically among 300,000+ records.

04A 4.3-Inch Touchscreen for the Whole Threat Picture

The color touchscreen displays the IMS spectral fingerprint alongside three live environmental channels — radiation level (μSv/h), combustible gas (LEL, %LEL) and TVOC (ppm) — so an operator sees chemical, explosive and radiological risk at one glance. The status line confirms “Ready”, one-tap automatic calibration is always available, and a clear audible-visual alarm fires the moment a hazard is identified. For checkpoint and patrol work, a covert (silent) alarm mode can be selected instead.

05Engineered for the Field, Wired for the Command Post

At 3 kg and 367 × 138 × 169 mm, the SEED-PM is carried one-handed through a full shift. It operates from −20 °C to +55 °C at up to 95%RH, runs for more than 5 hours on the lithium-ion battery (10+ hours standby), and links to the command post through WAN Ethernet, dual USB and wireless upload. Every screening is stored — up to 300,000+ detection records — with storage, retrieval, export and USB backup.

06Who Relies on the LSJ SEED-PM

Use Case 01

Emergency Firefighting & HazMat Response

Fire rescue and hazardous-materials teams screen smoke, spills and collapsed structures for chemical agents and toxic gas before committing crews. When a hazardous gas is detected, the unit raises an audible-visual alarm and shows the agent type on screen, letting commanders plan routes and keep personnel out of poisoned zones.

Use Case 02

National Defense, Military CBRN, Border & Anti-Smuggling

Military CBRN reconnaissance patrols, border defense units and anti-smuggling teams use the SEED-PM to verify chemical and radiological contamination in the field, with covert silent alarming for discreet operations. The same instrument supports trace screening of explosives and narcotics at checkpoints.
