Ever wondered how firefighters and police officers can see in the dark? It's pretty cool! They have a tool specifically for this, which is known as thermal camera. Thermal cameras are pretty incredible things that can 'see' heat, even in total darkness. That means that in the dark, these soldiers are exceptionally good at finding beings and objects AKA Heros Do not Need Light.

You all know that your parents sometimes take pictures using a camera in their phone, these portable cameras are for taking photos of the heat! Now think of a camera that allows you to see heat instead of just static photos. How fun would that be?
There are a number of different ways in which portable thermal cameras can prove to be invaluable. They can, for instance, identify hot spots inside burning buildings to help firefighters save lives. Firefighters trying to prevent it from destroying the home, must now figure out where that fire is most intense and extinguish it. Police officers They can also use thermal cameras to find out if there is someone hiding in the darkness, which helps them protect their neighborhoods. But wait, there’s more! There are another untold ways to use them! Thermal cameras can tell electricians if the wires are getting too hot in someone's house. If the wires are that hot it likely means there is an issue! Thermal cameras can also allow farmers to see the health of their plants. This includes the ability to monitor which of its plants need more water or attention. And guess what? You can even use a thermal camera to check for the warmest spots on your own body! Isn’t that neat?

Or you could put it outside at night and take pictures of all the wildlife that comes out when the sun goes down. Suddenly, you may spot a raccoon, or perhaps even deer and a sly fox!
So, in that case how these thermal cameras work? It’s really interesting! Infrared radiation is used by them. This is one type of light we cannot see but the snake uses it to look for their food! Our bodies also emit infrared radiation; in fact, anything that gives off heat emits infrared radiation.
This is what we recognise as a heat image on the screen of that thermal camera; it captures, frames by frame wherever you want to put them … even "live" folks. The cooler parts of an object contain more blue and purple hues, the whi- warmer areas have yellow orange or red getColor(animation)once again.
