It’s also a fantastic tool to see if you’ve done the repairs correctly! Once you have completed work on the PCB, use your thermal camera to scan for hot spots. Hot spots are places that are too hot. That could mean that there’s still something wrong that needs to be addressed. You can then focus on fixing any hot spots that you find to ensure that all the systems are functioning properly. This allows you to work better and guarantees operational performance from the PCB.
While the PCB is cooling, you can also perform a baseline temperature check with the thermal camera before you start working. This provides a baseline reading so you understand what temperatures are at the low end. It’s basically like being given a jumping-off point!
